I have been out the last couple of days scoping out the progress of the fall color changes in the area. Things are happening a bit earlier this year than in the past and there are some aspen stands that are fully changed. This is a shot from a favorite aspen grove up Clear Creek Canyon north of where I live. The trees are spaced out evenly on fairly level ground and have nice straight trunks. This is perfect for the proverbial shot looking straight up.
I decided to try out my fisheye lens that I puchased earlier this year. It was pretty fun. It isn’t easy to work with on a tripod, so I cranked up the ISO and just shot bursts handheld. The challenge was to hide the sun behind one of the tree trunks. With a fisheye lens, it is almost always in your shot!
Great shot Monte. The dark blue against the yellow is great. Looks like the color is great out there.
Thanks Corey! The color has come early this year. It is near peak around home. I look forward to getting back out tomorrow.
