I was needing a new sunrise shot for today’s theme on Google+ and decided to take a look back at my images from my trip to New Zealand in 2009.
This was such a pretty sunrise at Lake Wanaka on the South Island. It was quite foggy when Nat Coalson and I arrived at the lake. As dawn drew nearer though, it began to lift and turned pink in the morning light. I was lucky that it was calm enough to be able to capture the boat without it moving during the two and a half second exposure. I didn’t originally shoot this as a panorama. I had a composition with a lot more foreground that just didn’t work. What was I thinking?
