The aspen groves on the west side of Ridgway were quickly losing there leaves with winds of up to 35 miles per hour blowing everyday last week. Fortunately the color on the west side of town hadn’t yet peaked and there were still good conditions for shooting. This evening the clouds were pretty thick and it looked like sunset might be a bust. As the sun got lower in the western sky though it did break through occasionally and made for this dramatic shot with dark clouds behind Chimney Rock, Courthouse Mountain, and the valley filled with golden aspens and multicolored scrub oak.
Great shot Momte, love the light on the mountain.
Thanks Corey. I was really happy with the results!
