Another image from my trip to New Zealand in 2009. Nat Coalson and I had the most amazing sunrise at Castlepoint Lighthouse on the North Island. This was our first stop after taking the ferry over from the South Island. The lighthouse is in a beautiful location that can be a little tricky to get to because of the tides. The skies were lighting up nicely as the sun came up but there weren’t a lot of clouds to the north. I turned around and saw that there were plenty of clouds to the south and they were really starting to light up. I ran around to the other side of the lighthouse and had just enough time to frame this up. Skies like this are to die for!
