I am really looking forward to another trip down to Anguilla next month. There is nothing like standing on the beach with the sea lapping around your feet as the sun makes it’s way over the horizon. Anguilla is a pretty small island so over the years I have tried about every location there is for a sunrise shot. This is my favorite location, Merrywing Bay. That is the island of St. Martin across the Caribbean Sea. It isn’t uncommon to see rain showers hovering over the island in the morning. On this particular morning though, the clouds spread out and moved in my direction. In the predawn light the sky was very menacing and intermittent light rain kept me busy covering and uncovering my gear. As the sun came over the horizon, I was rewarded with an eerie kind of light that lit up the top of the foreboding clouds. You just never know what sunrise will bring. I look forward to once again being on the shore to witness it.
