The third waterfall that my good friend and fellow photographer Luke Tingley and I visited on a rainy morning this September turned out to be a lot of fun to shoot. Fun that is if you like struggling to stay on your feet!

The falls reach the base and wander downstream through deep pools and over beautiful slabs of red rock. When Luke and I came to the falls along the trail, I just knew that I had to don my waders to fully explore the possibilities. I started downstream in a pool that was almost up to my thighs and worked my way upstream. I climbed out of the pool and stepped up to the next level on one of the rock slabs. I was in for a surprise when I got to the top. As soon as I started to stand up, my feet began sliding out from under me! Luckily I was able to grasp my tripod and regain my composure. I was also fortunate to not have the tripod slip out from under me like my camera dunking experience this spring. Needless to say I was very, very careful after that!
